Paint Chip Portraits

How much fun can be had with an old book of paint samples? I wanted to transform an otherwise ordinary item into something visually arresting. These portraits are an experiment in creating order from the mundane. Each portrait become more clear as the distance from the piece grows. In this aspect they become alive to the eyes by constantly changing depending on your perspective of the piece. These pieces are a precursor to the address label mandala project.
